What does a Master student in Occupational Therapy, a Youth Minister from Sunshine Coast, former students from Trinity College, Beenleigh and Marist College, Ashgrove, a Radio DJ, an apprentice carpenter have in common? They attended the second QLD Young Marist weekend at Tugun on 14th-16th May. The theme of the weekend was the gospel parable of the mustard seed (Matthew 13). The weekend is designed to have a good balance of creative input, prayer, artistic expressions, great food (Curry made with variety of Cumin, Coriander, Fennel, Cardamon seeds & pods as well as flourless chocolate cake made with nuts) and free time to enjoy the warm May sunshine on the beach.
It was a good weekend to see what has been planted in each of us from the Master Gardener.
"It was an amazing, fun and therapeutic! I would definitely recommend this weekend to someone who wants to relax and be in a spiritual environment."
"I had a very relaxing weekend in Tugun with some amazing people. During this time we had a number of sessions in response to what may have been planted in us as well as enjoying some good food."
"I need to challenge myself to search for something to help myself to germinate and grow."
The next Young Marist retreat will be the Pruning Retreat at Mittagong from the 5th - 9th July. Check out the info on the Young Marists Retreat link under Marist Family on the left margin.
