As Servant Leaders

Comments from some of the Leaders:

“Sharing our story was excellent, getting to know the similarities and differences between other Marist schools and learning from their initiatives and traditions”

“I became more aware of our national and international family and the Marist spirit that permeates this community”.

“I became aware of the amazing spiritual connection that exists between Marists. I have realised that I am part of a very special family”.

“The ‘Gift of Water’ liturgy was the most spiritual part for me because not only did I acknowledge a gift in myself, I found new gifts I would like to have”.

“I think that the whole event provided a great opportunity for the 2008 student leaders of Marist schools to come together, meet, have some fun and get to know each other. It showed us that we are not alone and that there are many out there just like us”.

“The presenters and their topics were genuine, relevant and insightful”.

“I became aware that there are other schools and places that hold similar beliefs, values and traditions as those of my school”.

“I learnt that even though we all go to different schools we all share something in common; the Marist spirit within us”.

“Thank you for helping me find my true Marist spirit!!”

“I learned about our Marist origins and ways to implement our beliefs and values through our leadership positions”.

“I became aware of the idea that leadership is about serving with others not for others”.

“What I found most valuable were the group activities because they helped me realise the crucial role that teamwork plays in effective leadership”.

“From this retreat I have become more aware of just how vast and caring the Marist community is here and overseas”.

“I became more aware of the definable characteristics of the Marist Charism”.
